Why this matters.
A compliance question at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday should not require scheduling a meeting, emailing the legal team, or opening a 1,200-page guide and hoping you land on the right section. The answer is almost always in the text — the bottleneck is retrieval, not knowledge.
Ask retrieves the relevant passages from the guides and the regulations — and, when you pin a policy, that policy too — synthesizes an answer, and cites exactly where each piece came from. It does not invent. If the answer is not in the corpus, it says so. And because it is available as an in-context sheet everywhere in the app, you never have to navigate away from what you are doing to ask a question.

How we do it.
Retrieval-augmented generation
Your question is embedded and matched against a vector index of the regulatory corpus — the GSE guides and eCFR sections. The top-ranked passages are assembled into context before the answer is generated. A pinned policy is added to that context on top of the retrieved passages.
Citation grounding
Every claim in the answer is tied to the passage that supports it. Citations surface as pill links in the response — click one to read the exact source section. The model is instructed not to assert anything it cannot cite.
Anchored Ask sheet
The Cmd/Ctrl-K sheet opens in-context wherever you are: a feed item, a license detail, a policy. When anchored to a specific item, that item is guaranteed-included in the retrieval context above the normal corpus results.
