Summary
If enacted, this bill would prohibit Kentucky health insurers from requiring prior authorization for health care services where the provider has a prior authorization exemption. It would require insurers to establish programs under which participating providers can qualify for exemptions, and would mandate annual reporting by the Department of Insurance and Department for Medicaid Services. The bill would apply to contracts entered, renewed, or amended on or after January 1, 2028.
