AN ACT relating to the prevention of harmful and fraudulent practices.
February 2, 2026
Summary
If enacted, this bill would expand regulation of contractors to prevent harmful and fraudulent practices in real estate services, particularly during states of emergency. It would require contractors to provide notices about assignment of benefits before entering contracts, prohibit certain marketing and representations, and make violations a fraudulent insurance act and criminal mischief. The Attorney General would have enforcement authority and could issue emergency registration orders.
