Consumer Protection Clarification Amendment Act of 2025

Summary

If enacted, this bill would clarify that the District of Columbia government is not considered a merchant under the District’s consumer protection law, except that it would remain subject to landlord-tenant provisions when acting as the District of Columbia Housing Authority. This bill does not affect private lenders, servicers, or other mortgage industry actors.
