MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) today announced DFI Secretary Cheryll Olson-Collins appointed Kristie Pulvermacher to lead the agency’s Division of Corporate and Consumer Services as the division’s administrator. Pulvermacher began her appointment on November 4, 2024, filling the vacancy left by DFI Deputy Secretary Craig Heilman, who held the position until being appointed deputy secretary in August 2024.
“Kristie is a great addition to our DFI leadership team with her extensive leadership experience serving a variety of businesses, non-profits, and state and local governments,” said DFI Secretary Olson-Collins. “Kristie is committed to serving the people of Wisconsin, and I’m confident she will do a great job leading our Division of Corporate and Consumer Services.”
As the division administrator, Pulvermacher leads a staff of 19 employees and oversees the state’s central business registration filing system. The division is responsible for processing and filing business records for corporations and other entities. It files articles of incorporation and other organizational records, documents that effect mergers, consolidations, and dissolutions, and the annual reports of various businesses, including partnerships, corporations, limited liability companies, cooperatives, and out-of-state entities. The division also files documents under the uniform commercial code and maintains the statewide uniform commercial code lien system. In addition, the division commissions and regulates notaries public; issues apostilles; administers the state trademark registration system; and registers cable/video service franchises, homeowners’ associations, professional employer organizations, professional fundraisers, and charitable organizations.
Prior to her DFI appointment, Pulvermacher held several leadership positions in the areas of business development, marketing, and sales for a variety of businesses, non-profits, and state and local governments. Most recently, she advised several companies and non-profit organizations on communications, engagement, public outreach, and marketing effectiveness. Pulvermacher also led marketing and business development for Foxconn Health Technology Business Group in Madison and Milwaukee, and she directed business and investment attraction initiatives for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. Earlier in her career, Pulvermacher worked for a medical and healthcare engineering and information technology firm, and a biopharmaceutical company in Madison.
Pulvermacher holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She currently resides in Middleton and serves as the volunteer chair for the city’s Sustainability Committee.
