Summary

If enacted, this bill would establish a Bill of Rights for long-term care clients prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and HIV status. It would require training for facility and home care staff, allow civil actions for violations, and amend other acts to require compliance. The bill also expands the definition of abuse in the Adult Protective Services Act to include intentional misgendering and unlawful discrimination.
