Ucc: Secured Trans.; Electronic Records
February 18, 2026
Summary
If enacted, this bill would modernize Alaska's Uniform Commercial Code to recognize and govern transactions involving controllable electronic records, controllable accounts, and controllable payment intangibles. It updates definitions and rules for secured transactions, sales, negotiable instruments, letters of credit, warehouse receipts, investment securities, and leases to accommodate electronic assets, aligning Alaska with other states that have adopted similar UCC amendments. Banks, fintechs, credit unions, and other secured creditors that take electronic collateral would need to update their security interest procedures and documentation.
