Originator This license is required of any individual or sole proprietor, who for compensation or gain or in the expectation of compensation or gain takes an application or offers to negotiate or modify the terms of an existing residential mortgage loan on Oklahoma residential property for others. 59 O.S. § 2095.2 (15)

  1. Step 1

    Company Sponsorship: A sponsorship request must be submitted by your employer. OK DOCC will review and accept or reject the sponsorship request.

  2. Step 2

    Employment History: The business address listed in the Employment section of the Individual Form (MU4) must match the address of the registered location in the Company Relationship.

  3. Step 3

    Immigration Document: Qualified aliens in the United States legally under the Federal Immigration and Naturalization Act should complete an Affidavit Verifying Lawful Presence in the United States and supply documentation such as a permanent resident card. Upload the appropriate form, signed and notarized, along with any required documentation. Click here to download the form. This document should be named Immigration Document.

  4. Step 4

Who Is Required to Have This License? A Mortgage Loan Originator is an individual who for compensation or gain, or in the expectation of compensation or gain, takes a residential mortgage loan application or offers or negotiates or modifies the terms of a residential loan. Oklahoma SAFE Act - 59 O.S. § 2095.2 (15) (a) OK DOCC does not issue paper licenses for this license type. Remote work: A licensee may permit its employees or independent contractors to work at remote locations in compliance with the licensee’s written policies and procedures subject to the conditions as outlined: Oklahoma SAFE Act - 59 O.S. § 2095.27. Pre-licensure Education: Prior to submission of the application, complete at least 20 hours of NMLS-approved pre-licensure education (PE) courses which must include one (1) hours of Oklahoma content. Testing: Must satisfy one of the following three conditions: • Passing results on both the National and Oklahoma State components of the SAFE Test, or • Passing results on both the National and Stand-alone UST components of the SAFE Test, or • Passing results on the National Test Component with Uniform State Content
